Meet Kacie Whaley

Kacie Whaley is a dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialist with a deep commitment to helping students become self-sufficient and confident. With over 19 years of experience, she has worked primarily with emotionally disabled middle and high school students, applying her expertise to foster both academic and personal growth. Kacie believes that confidence is built when individuals trust in their abilities, and she focuses on teaching her students to be independent, both in school and in life.

Her career has included a variety of roles beyond traditional educational settings, such as managing a daycare center and teaching preschool. In this role, Kacie successfully revitalized the business by applying her unique insights and ability to meet the needs of children of all ages. These diverse experiences have given her a broad understanding of working with children, allowing her to effectively reach students with a wide range of abilities and challenges.

Throughout her career, Kacie has witnessed firsthand how students who struggle with reading often face broader difficulties in life. She has found the Stevenson Reading Program to be an invaluable tool in helping these students overcome challenges. Through its implementation, Kacie has witnessed remarkable transformations—students not only improved academically but also gained newfound confidence in tackling new challenges. The noticeable progress that some students made in a single session reinforced Kacie's belief in the power of skill-building to foster self-reliance and positive self-esteem.

Kacie is thrilled to be part of The Need to Read initiative, where she has the opportunity to continue her work with the Stevenson Reading Program. She is passionate about helping more students reach their greatest potential, guiding them toward a future where reading is a tool for both academic success and personal empowerment.
